In 1947, British H. Morogh found that when cerium was added to hypereutectic gray cast iron and its content was above 0.02wt%, graphite was spherical. In 1948, A. P.Ganganebin et al. in the United States pointed out that when magnesium was added to cast iron and impregnated with ferrosilicon, spherical graphite was obtained when the residual magnesium content was greater than 0.04wt%. Since then, nodular cast iron began large-scale industrial production. The history of ductile iron pipe use can be traced back to 1668 Paris suburb from the Seine River to Versailles, about 21.14Km of the water pipe line, 300 years of time, in addition to part of the pipe and joint repair and replacement, the main body is still in use today.
