On March 27, the reporter learned from Dalian Water Bureau that this year, Dalian will transform 100 kilometers of old urban water supply pipe network, transform 10,000 indoor old pipe network households of urban residents, and replace 1,000 old water meters for overdue service users.   

Dalian has a long history of using tap water, which can be traced back to the late Qing Dynasty. At present, the total length of the city's tap water pipe network has reached 5000 kilometers, among which, the proportion of the length of the pipeline is larger than that of the overdue service and of the cast iron, concrete and other inferior pipes. This year, Dalian plans to complete the renovation of 100 kilometers of old urban water supply network.

In order to solve the problems of the urban water supply network, such as overdue service, serious rust and high accident rate, and improve the urban water supply security rate, Dalian has continued to renovate the old pipe network since 2003. In 2010, an unprecedented 1.1 billion yuan was invested in transforming 185 kilometers. By 2015, a total of 900 kilometers had been transformed. At the same time, the indoor pipe network of 170,000 households has also been reformed, effectively solving the problem of secondary water pollution.
